Morpheus8 RF Microneedling is a treatment that combines the benefits of traditional microneedling with the benefits of radiofrequency energy (RF) into one single handpiece with ultra-fine needles that puncture the skin, causing micro-injuries that absorb the RF energy into both the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin, significantly increasing and collagen production and elastin growth. Morpheus8 treatment begins with an initial consultation to evaluate your skin, medical history, and develop a treatment plan that addresses your skin concerns. At the time of treatment, your appointment begins with the provider cleaning and prepping the skin to be treated. Next, a topical numbing gel is applied to the skin in the treatment area. Once applied, this can take as long as an hour to become numb and ready for treatment. Once numb, the provider begins moving the Morpheus8 device over the treatment area, allowing the needles to penetrate the skin and deliver the radiofrequency energy. The number of passes and amount of energy delivered during your treatment will depend on the size of the treatment area and your desired goals.
Your recovery after Morpheus8 can vary based on the intensity of the treatment and your body’s natural healing process. In most cases, you should plan for at least one to three days to allow the swelling, redness, and itchiness to resolve. In the first few hours after treatment, your skin will be sensitive and can be prone to infection, so you are advised to keep the treatment area clean and avoid touching the area.
